Summer School on "Finite-Dimensional Algebras: Representations, (Co-)Homology and Stability"
This summer school, aimed primarily at graduate and advanced undergraduate students, introduces some of the central ideas of modern algebra (classification and decomposition of algebras and their representations, homological and categorical methods, families of algebras and representations and their stability) in the context of an accessible and easy to visualize class of examples, namely diagram algebras. Assuming only a modest background in general algebra (categories, modules, Ext and Tor) and representation theory (representations of finite groups and finite-dimensional algebras), the three minicourses by international experts will lead us to open problems at the forefront of current research in algebra. During the school there will be plenty of opportunities to get in touch with both the experts and other interested young researchers.
